Gifts from the Sea

This was a fun color palette to work with... mostly aquas and light blues and greens with a touch of warm pink.

I began the painting by lightly blocking in the position of each object very loosely with pastel. I then did a very rough watercolor wash using the local colors I wanted for the pieces.

Once the watercolor was dry, I began refining the objects with my soft pastels. For this delicate piece, I used a very light touch.
