| Artist's comment: This painting was commissioned by the family of a friend and former colleague, Alice Kus, to celebrate her retirement from 25 years of teaching. The piece includes Alice's desk and chair, some of her favorite children's books, and symbols of her years spent teaching kindergarten students. Alice Kus is many things to many people...wife, mother, grandmother, master teacher, mentor, dear friend.
