| Artist's comment: I am so interested in experimenting with a pure bronze powder that comes in different metallic colors...rich gold, soft gold, copper, and silver. I used it once before on Milkweed with Gold. Don't really know all the ins and outs of how compatible it is with soft pastels and how well it adheres, but I'm drawn to it. I LOVE a little sparkle and shine. So I tried to use just a hint of it in this painting. I'm pleased with it. It's one of those harrowing times when you've finished a painting that you're pleased with...and then you take the risk of painting gold powder onto it. Anyway, you only catch the slight hint of a gold edge in the right light. It's subtle and quite nice. |
