| June 5 and 6, 2007 Artist-in-Residence at Phippsburg Elementary School. ![]() Alongside my working set, the students' pastels were all packed and ready to travel south to beautiful Phippsburg, Maine. |
|
| I began my sessions sharing my own original art, discussing my technique and demonstrating it for students. The students then had time to put the techniques into practice and experiment with a new medium. We ended our sessions with quiet reflection. |

Brenda is a pastel painter first and foremost. When time allows, she shares her artistic skills and unique way of looking at color with students so that they can create a work of art during the workshop.
A school visit from the pastel painter, Brenda Ferguson, typically consists of three eighty minute classroom workshops, usually two in the morning and one in the afternoon. Having worked in public schools for many years, Brenda knows how to connect with students. A sample workshop is above. Brenda provides the pastels, professional grade pastel paper and also the subject matter for the still lifes. The fee is $500/day (or $400/half-day) plus travel from Dixmont, Maine. |
